Hello! Thanks for stopping by to ready about my project. I'm Nathan, just a normal/boring guy from Ohio. I guess my real adventure started about 5 year ago, when I married my best friend Pam. We did the "DINK" think for a while, living and working in Indiana in an old house we were fixing up with our two beagle dogs, Pappy and Barley (Beagles are a whole different adventure, and I'm not sure this site has the bandwidth to fully describe it!). We had a ton of fun and made some truly amazing friends, learned a lot and grew together. In late 2014, we decided we were ready (as much as one can be) to grow our little family, and in March 2015 we found the two pink lines. We were ecstatic! A few weeks later, we went to the Dr and got the news that would change our lives forever: Pam was pregnant with identical twin boys. Nothing like jumping in head first!
Connor and Dylan (Born October, 2015), have quickly become the center of our world... When we were starting to prepare for two little additions, we decided that because family was so important to us, we wanted to move back to OH to be near our parents and siblings to raise our boys. It took a few months for the job/relocation/house issues to work out, but when they were two weeks old we moved back to OH, and being able to see our family and watching the twins grow around them and always be surrounded with love has been the biggest joy of my life. My boys are awesome, and my wife is the most beautiful, most intelligent, and strongest woman I have ever met. I am a very lucky guy. |
As explained in The Project page, this is an effort I am starting to learn what I'm capable of, and to vet different ideas and ways of making money and starting small businesses.
As with a lot of people, I have a good full time job that we depend on. I want to start/own a business, and would love to do something that I love and have a passion for every day, while at the same time providing a great life for my boys and my wife. So I find myself in a spot where I want to explore business/income options that I can start small and on the side, hopefully finding something that "sticks", maybe something I can grow into a valuable company at some point. |
As many of us are painfully aware, life is expensive and busy. As a new father, I find that even more strain is placed on our limited time and money. We are incredibly blessed, and our current careers allow us to work every day and provide everything that our boys need. But I find myself looking ahead in time to things like trying to pay for two rounds of college tuition at the same time, and wanting to give my new boys the best opportunity I'm capable of... it's immensely rewarding and simultaneously, a huge amount of pressure. Part of that is going to work every day and putting in the time and effort to making my "typical" career successful and great. This project, though, goes beyond that. If I believe I'm capable of more, I know it's time to get busy and push myself, to put in the work and time and sweat. Of course the effort is focused on securing a great life for my family... But I wouldn't be totally honest if I didn't acknowledge that a real chunk of this project is for myself. To prove to myself that I can do it, to earn the right to continue to do things my way, and be in control of my own destiny.
